About Us...
Busting with Energy is the only dragon boat team comprised entirely of breast cancer survivors in Saskatchewan. We are based out of Saskatoon where we train and race on the south Saskatchewan River. We start a 12-week dryland training program each February and begin our training on the south Saskatchewan River in May.
We have approximately 40 members, including many grandmothers, of all ages to over 80 years. “We are a small but mighty team with a lot of heart and spirit.”
Fundraising:
Busting with Energy is involved in fundraising/volunteering for numerous research and awareness projects, including the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and Saskatchewan’s first Breast Health Care Centre, which opened in March of 2006 in Saskatoon, C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure, and Choc la Cure
